movement starts to feel like care instead of critique
That’s where healing starts. Take a breath. You’re in the right place
When you understand how your body works
Hi, I’m Heather.
I HAVEN’T BEEN PRACTICING YOGA ALL MY LIFE. I CAME TO IT BECAUSE MY BODY STARTED SAYING NO, AND I FINALLY DECIDED TO LISTEN.
I know what it’s like when movement starts to feel uncertain. When your hands ache, or your body doesn’t recover the way it used to. Yoga helped me rebuild trust in my body, and I want the same for you.
After more than two decades in biomedical research and consulting, years spent hunched over microscopes caught up with me. Carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists made simple movement painful. The work I loved was suddenly impossible.
move from the SOUL and celebrate the body you're in.

That’s when I discovered yoga.
WHAT BEGAN AS A SMALL EXPERIMENT BECAME A TURNING POINT IN MY LIFE.
Movement and breathwork gave me back the strength I thought I’d lost, and I realized there was so much more to this ancient practice than stretching or poses.
My teaching brings together everything I’ve learned to create joint-friendly, accessible practices that restore mobility, reduce pain, and support long-term flexibility.

Every part of my LIFE reflects what I teach: balance, curiosity, and care.
I LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA WITH MY HUSBAND AND OUR LIVELY CREW OF RESCUE PETS WHO FILL THE HOUSE WITH JOY (AND PLENTY OF NOISE).
Our two amazing kids are grown and finding their own way in the world.
My mom (who's in her 80s) is thriving in her coastal-grandmother era, I’ve got two brothers (one on the East Coast and one on the West), and three nieces and a nephew. Our family gatherings always include a very competitive game of 'Hearts' or lately, messy mahjong!
I spend a lot of time walking barefoot on the beaches of NC, hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, or cooking colorful meals with local produce and spices.
Because when you treat your body with intelligence and kindness, it responds in the best possible way.
